Berger Paints India Limited Virtual Campus Recruitment Program 2017 for the position of – Sales Officer Trainees (SOT)
The Company’s Campus Recruitment Program 2017, for inducting fresh Management Graduates is for the Current Final Year batch of Management Students specialization only in Sales & Marketing stream for positions in Non-Management front line sales cadre as Sales Officer Trainee (SOT) in Decorative Paints Division in Uttar Pradesh.
Berger Paints India Limited is a leading paint company of India, headquartered in Kolkata with a consolidated gross sales turnover of more than Rs.5000 crs, having its operations spread across India, Nepal, Poland & Russia. The company is into the business of manufacturing & selling variety of paints & specialty coatings, primarily through its four major business line operations of – Decorative Paints (Retail), Automotive & General Industries Paints, Protective Coatings & Powder Coatings.
The following eligibility criteria is set for the students
- Decorative Paints ( Retail) –
Students should possess minimum academic qualification as Graduate in Science / Commerce / Management / Engineering only.
Before pursuing their MBA program-
However, students with graduation in Engineering having Information Technology / Telecommunication specializations shall not apply as they will not be considered for this division.
- Should have scored at least 55% marks all throughout the academic career.
- Should preferably have command over at least one regional Indian language; apart from Fluency in English & Hindi.
- Should have Good Communication, Interpersonal & Analytical skills.
- Should possess a two wheeler driving license. (Mandatory requirement, else will be rejected)

Contrary to the conventional On Campus Recruitment process consisting usually of a Pre-Placement Talk, Written Assessment Tests, GD and Personal Interviews, the selection process of this Virtual Campus Recruitment Program, is by using company’s website, back end service partner organization for support and satellite link communication system of Video Conferencing to communicate and assess the prospective candidates; the detailed process of which to be followed is outlined below:
a) The interested students should login to the Company’s website http://www.bergerpaints.com, and know about the company, work culture in details.
b) Thereafter interested students directly register by filling the online form in the link http://www.freshersworld.com/campus/berger-register by 31st October 2016.
c) The backend service partners FreshersWorld.Com, Bangalore on receipt of the registration input of applicants would do the initial screening of the eligible candidates.
d) Shortlisted candidates list will then be shared by Freshersworld.com with the Placement Coordinator, with a request to make necessary arrangement to help the students appear for the On-line Assessment Test, which will comprise test questions related to Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Language, etc. to be conducted on Wednesday,9th November 2016. All candidates appearing for the On-line Assessment Test will be allotted with an ID well in advance.
e) The Candidates scoring over and above a fixed cutoff mark in On-line Assessment Test shall be requested to appear for the initial round of Group Discussion & Personal Interview tentatively between 18th – 30th November 2016 at venues likely to be in the State Capital. All candidates shall have to reach the interview venue for a day at their own expense.
f) The final round of Personal Interview shall however be conducted thru Video Conferencing mode with the Corporate Team, Kolkata tentatively between 12th – 15th December 2016. Necessary co-ordination & the exact details of the same shall be informed accordingly in due time and formal announcement of the selected students shall be made thereafter.
g) Issuance of the Formal Offers shall be rolled out within one month of final selection with dispatches addressed to the Placement Coordinator.
The students who are appointed for the position of Sales Officer Trainees shall be on-boarding in batches starting from 2nd May 2017 in the Company and shall have to undergo training for a period of One Year. The initial compensation being offered is CTC of approx. Rs. 5.00 lacs per annum. Post training, the Trainees will be confirmed as Senior Sales Officer with clearly defined responsibilities. The next career level progression will be of Sales Supervisor and finally into management grade as Sales Executive, which may take an approx. time frame of 3-4 years based on individual performance.
